A piece of the wooden floor of the Museum Tinguely in Basel. An artist once pointed out to the museum director a face formed in the grain of the wood. Years later, during renovations, the director returned with a sudden memory of this fragment and searched for it amidst the changing floor. He was able to find it and kept it in his desk, waiting two years for the right occasion. After a presentation of the Musée Légitime, he understood that he had been preserving it for this very moment. He rushed across the bridge, headed to the museum, and returned to the art space where the hat was. There, he proposed this piece for the museum’s collection.
